OMAHA SPINAL DECOMPRESSION

Natural Life Chiropractic offers non-surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy (DTS), which is a revolutionary technology used primarily to treat disc injuries in the neck and in the low back.

If you or your family members have been struggling with little or no relief, then ask yourself the following questions.

• Are you currently dependent on medications on a daily basis?

• Are you limited in daily activities?

• Have you had repeated injections or epidurals with little or no relief?

• Are you considering surgery and are uncomfortable with that choice?

• Have you been out of work due to pain?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then non-surgical DTS is certainly a viable treatment option. In the past, a patient suffering from disc problems usually was given pain medications, instructed to refrain from physical activities, referred for physical therapy, and when they weren’t progressing they were sent for spinal surgery. Conservative care proved very helpful in many cases, yet there have been some cases when surgery seemed to be the only other option. Today, you don’t have to live with that pain anymore.

Over the past seven months, I found Dr. Monte, Sara, and Deb in massage very professional and helpful to work with. Spinal decompression has proven to be successful for me. It has become a process I almost look forward to! Dr. Monte has been a good communicator and is more than willing to spend time explaining and going over x-ray progress. Some of my spine deviance has been reduced by 50% so far! He works well with other providers who give me my of other treatments. My pain is becoming more manageable. As far as I’m concerned, Dr. Monte has been a Godsend and I recommend him highly

DTS is an effective treatment option that is very safe and utilizes FDA cleared equipment to apply distraction forces to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. Distraction is offset by cycles of partial relaxation. This technique of Spinal Decompression, that is, unloading due to distraction and positioning, has shown the ability to gently separate the vertebrae from each other, creating a vacuum inside the discs that we are targeting. This “vacuum effect” is also known as negative intra-discal pressure.

The negative pressure may induce the retraction of the herniated or bulging disc into the inside of the disc, and off the nerve root, the cal sac, or both. It happens only microscopically each time, but cumulatively, over four to six weeks, the results are quite dramatic. The cycles of decompression and partial relaxation, over a series of visits, promote the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the discs to the inside. These nutrients enable the torn and degenerated disc fibers to begin to heal.

This system provides relief of pain and symptoms associated with herniated discs, bulging or protruding intervertebral discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, and sciatica. Spinal Decompression not only significantly reduces or eliminates back pain in many patients, but also enables the majority of patients to return to their previous lives.

Diagnosing back pain and choosing a treatment method is determined by reviewing the patient’s medical history, performing a physical examination, and prescribing diagnostic tests. Review of a Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) and/or an X-ray of your spine will be necessary to assess the cause of your back pain (we have digital X-ray on site and an MRI will be prescribed if needed). It is difficult to create an effective treatment regimen without first identifying the underlying cause of the pain. The type of treatment prescribed for back pain will usually be dictated by the diagnosis of the underlying cause of pain. For the vast majority of people, back pain can be treated non-surgically. Proper patient screening is imperative and only the best candidates are accepted for care.

After a significant amount of research and hands on experience with DTS, Natural Life Chiropractic chose the D.O.C. Decompression Table. The unique design of the new D.O.C. table utilizes a state-of-the-art digital command center for specific vertebral targeting, separate lumbar and cervical decompression programming and continuous readout and graphing of treatment protocols. Not only does the D.O.C. have the benefits of a traditional DTS table but it also allows for state of the art positioning, meaning it can include axial rotation and lateral flexion. In layman terms this allows the disc space to be addressed and properly opened by moving the spine into position. The D.O.C. is unlike other spinal decompression units in that it only utilizes direct and straight pull.
